Sophia Haid is an artist and archivist working in photo, video, and installation.
She is interested in where and how images fail, investigating both the shape of vernacular images and the ideologies that undergird them. She is especially drawn to work that employs re-enactments, archival interventions, and critical fabulations (Saidiya Hartman, Venus in Two Acts). She holds a B.A. in Film & Media Studies from Yale University.
